Oh, and I can't tell if it's fragrant because my allergies have been acting up. At night, I think I may detect a hint of sweetness - I look at them and smell them all the time, but I think what I smell could possibly be wishful thinking!

Lumpy I love that plant! The flowers are sooo pretty. It's been on my wish list for a little while now. I feel your pain on the 105 degree heat wave. We got it in S. Oregon too. Where in N. Calif are you?

I'm in Gridley, CA - about 30 miles south of Chico - very close to where all those Butte county fires were. So about 4 hrs south of Oregon. Weather's nice and cool now - it's only 95 degrees

Eeewwww! So you've had a lovely smoke filled summer. Ack! We've only had smoke from the Happy Camp fires when the wind was from the south. It was bad enough though to not want to go outside. Couple that with triple digit heat. Yuck!

Are you growing your orchids in the house or in a greenhouse?

Man, I wouldn't know what to do with a greenhouse even if I had one, I'm so wet behind the ears. I have 2catts to replace the first orchid I ever had because I killed it before it even bloomed and I have one mini cym that my mom gave me from her garden because she felt sorry for me!! They are all indoors and, so far, doing well.

And yes, my summer was very smokey. My niece came to spend the summer with me - we went to the park once in 2 months!!

105 degrees, I don't envy you...lol. I live in So. Cali a few miles from the ocean so we don't really experience those 3 digit temps. Thank God , I grew up in the Phils. and had enough of those temps. Don't worry, winter is just around the corner. I can't wait.

Well Kumusta! I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area but have visited the PI a few times - ahaha glad we don't have the humidity...although I think the plants wouldn't mind it one bit!!

Now that I mention humidity, this catt is in the kitchen at my sink window - east facing. It's more humid there than the family room where my Blc. Memorial Helen Brown 'Ta-Hsin' is. These Hawaiian Passions bloomed and have a couple new growths on it, but my other has no visible active growth. Do you think humidity has anything to do with it?

Could be not enough light Lisa. Catts need fairly intense light just shy of full sunlight to bloom properly.
