Laelia jongheana
Laelia jongheana has always been a trouble species for me. Well... now I must say it was. I had tried it several times, always with poor results, most of times the plant lost the roots and got dehydrated, so I had decided to let it go. Last year I thought ‘Well, let’s give it one more try, but this time in sphagnum moss’, which is something I had never used with it before... and here it is, healthy and in bloom!! I am really glad!

Mauro, you give me hope!
I love this one and have been told that it won't grow here...
but I think I'm going to have to try one!

That is just such a beautiful Laelia! I am really partial to these little orchids.
How interesting. I would not have thought that it would like the sphagnum! Or that it would prefer more water held around its roots.
Great growing and blooming!
Thanks so much for the awesome photos. . .keep em coming. I sure do look forward to them.

Looks like a large flower for a short body. Ha! Laelias look elegant and yet simple. Thanks for the pic.
