C. forbesii 'Pontal do Sul'
The seedling had its first bloom in May this year and now it blooms again but also has only one flower. Hope it will produce more blooms next year.

Pheli,
It's beautiful! I just got one of these guys this week...a seedling from Hoosier Orchids. I know it may be a few years till it blooms, but I hope when it does that it is as beautiful as yours.

David,
It takes about 2-3 years for the plant to mature and while it is about 4-5" tall, it is able to flower for the first time.

Love it! Looks like an elephant. I have a forbesii hybrid in spike right now. Same lip!

Thanks for the kind words!
The plant was imported from Australia and this clone is rare here.
Although C. forbesii has fewer color varieties than other species cattleyas, there are still some good clones worth growing.
