This is a cross between Cattleya loddigesii and Lc Culminant. The hybrid was first registered in the 70's if I remember well. My plant comes from a remake made in Brazil using the exceptional C. loddigesii 'Vera Lúcia'. This year the flowers didn't open well.

Wow Mauro...they are beautiful...and I'll agree with you that the previous year’s bloom has better form.

By the way, is it fragrant? It sure looks like it should be!

Well, I can't argue that last year's bloom has wonderful form, and the petals have a nice roundness to them. I do kind of like the frilliness of this year's, too, though. I'd personally be thrilled with either!
