The roots are firmly grabbing the trunk, Swamper. It is impossible to take this plant off without breaking the rhizoma. I'll take a few pictures next weekend (if I didn't forget)

Thanks for the info Mauro...I'm always thinking about where species are growing naturally, and this guy looks so well naturalized I thought it may be from your area. You've grown it very well indeed!

Beautiful cattleya, Mauro! I too have crab spiders, but they're each occupying a flower on the orange jasmine that's in bloom on my deck right now instead of the orchids. Congratulations on your wonderful quadricolor.
