I think this is part of the Cattleya Alliance...but it's finally in bloom and beautiful! There are more buds on the way too!!  I'm not going to lie, though....I was hoping for a little more orange-ness to it...maybe with age?

Yeah, it reminds me of jello in a weird way. Although the petals are thick, they are some what translucent, which is difficult to see in the picture, but in person they are. It is very much like cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving

No scent  but the color is becoming more orange as it matures which is nice. It starts out sort of cranberry colored and becomes more orange/red as it matures. Very interetsing plant.
