Thanks Kavanaru for your comment. I also regard this one as a good form of this species. It's origin is from Germany some years ago. The plant has now 16 bulbs.

where from in Germany?

I have no place for it now, But i will keep an eye open in case one or two of the non-performing cattleyas "die" (just by chance...)

Kavanaru, it was a private seller in Hamburg five years ago ... and the price was quite high ... ... hope you find one ...

Don Perusse, I think i have read the "spider like" description in some orchid books, so the expression is not mine. ... it's quite descriptive.

Smweaver, it's hard to describe the fragrance of C.iricolor, because it is so different compared with the other orchids. I think it's sweet and strong (tangy ?), but not bad at all.
Once you have smelled it, it's easy to recognise the scent next time, even without seeing the plant
