The flowers are beautiful and the color like melted butter in sunshine BUT it appears you got a little behind on re-potting, no??

Becky, among so many other things, orchids teach us patience. Eleven years is a lot of time for us, but for an orchid it is just its childhood! For us, the big challenge is to manage keeping them healthy for such long time, or more!
And I agree with you, yellows fill the eyes, don't they?

You can say so, Don, but I did it on purpose. I've been growing a few of my plants with roots free in the air see how they develop when compared to the others. The first noticeable thing is that when they are free, the plant produces more and lengthier roots.

I love the looks of roots everywhere!!!
All these years I've grown houseplants and everything was hidden in dirt. My first experiences with orchids blew my mind, not only because of their beauty, aroma, and variety, but because their roots were growing up out of the pots and they love it! It's all natural for them.
