Encyclia Alata
First time bloomer for me. The spike is over 3 feet, but only has about 15 blooms on it. I like the clean smell alot as well as the coloration of the blooms. Definitely worth the wait!

Encyclia can get really big (long). and fragrance is to die for. I love tampensis a lot.

Very nice I like these guys. I brought an Encyclia Alata and an Enc.Orchid Jungle at the redland show and like you guys said,it smelled great. Actually one of them still has blooms. They are tough to photograph...if that makes sense.

At the nursery that I went these pass couple of days they have both the E. alata and the E. tampensis in bloom. However the Alata's spikes are much higher and thicker than those of the Tampensis. However they are both beautiful. I've got the E. tampensis v. alba

Gorgeous! I've got one that's not quite blooming size yet. I can't wait.

I know what you mean about photographing them. It took quite a few tries to get what I got and then I noticed the twist ties, arrrgh!
