Very nice blooms.
Parents are: C Angel Bells x C Claesiana. This hybrid is a White ... "v. alba" and "v. semi-alba" would refer to species. "Semi-alba" when also used for hybrids would be a descriptive rather than nomenclature term.
Variety is 'Virgin' without 'The'. The Hawaii grower who bloomed and named the variety years ago was subjected to a lot of good natured scoldings from the ladies for his choice of variety name. Plant is from over 20+ years ago, but the shimmering white surface makes it still appealing even after all these years
absolutely beautiful~~i'm looking to buy one--and it's all your fault!!
this may not be the best place to say this, but here i am--i truly appreciate being a part of this forum--you have all been so encouraging--this is good--i'm learning much. thank you all!
as you can see by the photo, it opened up a buttery yellow, but, today is the second day of blooming and it's turning more white. i bought it in august, a 6" size and placed it in the almost-finished greenhouse in early october. since i've had it i might have watered it 3 times.
