It's Guarisophleya Netrasiri Waxy
Guarisophleya [Gsl.] = Cattleya x Guarianthe* x Sophronitis
Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop occurs in it's lineage as a grandparent of both parent plants.
(Orchid kinkiness never ceases to amaze me )
Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop = Cattleya guttata X Guarianthe aurantiaca**
There are certain Cattleya which are now classified as Guarianthe* - These are -
- Guarianthe aurantiaca**
- Guarianthe bowringiana
- Guarianthe patinii
- Guarianthe skinneri
as per Guarianthe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and some laelia have been reclassifed as Sophronitis.
So if it were a Lc, it is now a Gsl

Congrats irphrog! I had been wanting the Encyclia cochleata forever also and recently crossed it off my wish list when I received mine from Oak Hill. Most intriguing! Does your ency. have a scent? I can't quite figure out what it smells like....the closest I can explain is anise, licorice.
Your Catt. is jaw dropping, beautiful also.
Enjoy!
Here's a pic of the flower of my Enc cochleata x Enc trulla, a bit different than the true squid plant, as I like to call them.

Yes, it does have a scent but I can figure out what it reminds me of...it's very soft and sweet....
I'll trade you a divison of mine for a division of yours!!
