Default Laelia purpurata 'Cindarosa'

This is an old favorite of mine and a reliable bloomer. The plant is very tall and has a lot of p-bulbs, with 4 separate leads. I think Ill call it a specimen plant next year!! Anyway, the bamboo growing around has really crowded this one this year so the flowers were very crowded and I dont think they were physically able to fully open, so the shape is a little off. Im going to try and cross this one with my digbyana which has just started spiking, though I had to divide it so I hope I get at least one flower from it this year. Thanks for lookin!

Beautiful white, great contrast. Agree a little crowded. I usually I use alumn. wire bent in a way to separate the flowers for displaying to best advantage. Doesn't work some of the time but mostly. Beautiful semi-alba.

This is one of my favorite 'girls'! I love the crisp clean colors and the contrast. This is a gorgeous flower, Steve.

I do hope you get to cross it with digbyana, sounds interesting. I'll be looking forward to seeing you post flowers from the babies.

Thanks everyone! This is definitely a fav of mine. I even had one of my neighbors today tell me she was taking pics of the flowers earlier in the day! I will definitely post pics of any future crosses, though I would really like to sell some of seedlings or flasks here on the OB.....maybe? I dunno how the phytosanitary certificates work from Hawaii to the mainland. We'll see.
