Your plant is a fantastic specimen!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congratulations on it's beautiful flowering & please do keep us posted! I have to admit that even though I would adore having one I hope you don't 'cut' it up to make more plants just yet ! as can I can imagine it next year .....with even more growths and blooms !! !!

This is It all 25 buds are opened. Wish you could see her in person but this is the best I can do. She is going to our Society meeting Thursday night. There is a special Childrens program that evening. I hope all the blooms stay for the week.

I think that when I repot I will keep everything intact except for the right section that has 2 of the flower spikes on it. It is far enough out of the pot to make a good cut with about 7 psudobulbs on it.

I'm still working on my Driftwood Project and have 4 chids mounted. Look for pics soon.

That is really special!! I would love to see how well that plant would do on the show bench. You dont see too many catts of that size and no. of flowers around
Maybe we should start a forum "show" and choose some of the best plants shown every month and maybe the plant(s)can recieve a forum award !! Now would'nt that be great!! And noids can be included !! Whats in a name anyway

Stunning! I've just looked at all your photos again!the before and now...& I still think that it's a shame to separtate it !! a bigger pot would surely do....but on the otherside side you'll end up with 2 of these!

OK, here is the update. I took this plant to our monthly meeting in June and it was given a cultural award by Carlos Fighetti, President of AOS He noted that he had never seen this particular orchid with so many blooms nor had he seen one with such vibrant color. Of course several days later it started dropping all its flowers and within a week they were all gone A week and a half ago I started seeing new growth . The friend I got her from had several phone calls about how beautiful the plant was since I did not take all the credit for it at the meeting I put both our names on it. Today I went to visit her with the plant and we divided it into 3. 2 have 6 bulbs with 3 growths and 1 the main plant has 18 bulbs (not dividing it) and 1 or 2 growths. My friend kept one with 6 bulbs and I have the other 2. They will be repotted tomorrow and I will play the waiting game to see what happens.

I could not put it into a bigger pot since 2 (6 bulb) pieces were totally out of the pot growing down and then up. It needed repotting badly anyway. Supposedly this plant blooms a couple times a year. I can't wait. Will keep you posted. Sure has been fun. I can't wait till next time

Good going Lorraine. I personally have not seen one so large with so many flowers. (Only in AOS Mag.) Nice growing whoever gets the credit. Seems like you did the right thing. Two new plants and one larger specimen. By all means let us know, especially thru pics. "Love those pictures"!
