BLC Rustic Spots Female
Default Fading color

I have two of these, Freckles and Sunspot and they both open very intensly red then with time the red overlay fades and then you see the yellow underneath. The spots or freckles stay. The flowers are long lasting the red is not.
Flowers that have been open for a differnet amount of time can be different colors. I see this a lot in hybrids with Richard Meuller in the parentage.

I also have a much larger hybrid with Richard Mueller, Tiller Meuller. These large flowers open intensely red and the fade to yellow. Here are pics of newly opened flowers and the a shot of the plant with new and old flowers.

I really like the first one you posted.

I dug thru my archive files and found a picture from last years blooming cycle, trying to remember if there was any color variation depending on the age of the bloom. On my plant, it looks like they are a bit less intense.

This is the same plant. It's strange I only got one bloom this year since the plant has 5 times the root mass and 3 times the leaf mass. The flower appears way more red/purple than last year.

Love the colour of the plant. But I won't be changing to seni-hydro anytime soon.

Thanks for sharing.
