Cattleya walkeriana
Wonderful perfume, as always with Cattleya walkeriana. Some people classify this as variety rubra but... well, I think the color should be a little darker to be said rubra. All my walkerianas are planted in clay pots; the media I use is a reddish moss available here. I use it straight, or sometimes mixed with tiny balls of white styrofoam (I scratch them off large pieces) in a proportion of around 80% moss-20% styrofoam.

Dorothy, Kiki, you should smell it! Its possible to notice the perfume far from the flowers if the wind blows in your direction!

Hi Mauro, I do not have any catts in bloom right now. I have lots of spikes, but no blooms. I so enjoy seeing pics of beauties like yours. Wish we had smellivision happening here. Maybe Marty can hook up something???? He's a bit of a genius when it comes to computer technology! Thanks once again.
