Default Cattleya percivaliana var. alba

I really love the whites! Percivaliana alba is very beautiful with its golden lip despite the "perfume" (argh!!!).!!!

Default Another white Cattleya

If you like white Cattleyas, you'll surely like this one: C. jenmannii alba "Fuch's Snow" FCC/AOS. I don't own the plant (wish I did), but was privileged to photograph it when it was awarded its first class certificate by the AOS at the Houston/SWROGA show of 1993.

I have heard that the percivaliana are a bit stinky .. can you describe the fragrance? Mauro
It has been described as "percivaliana – Moderate - Musky" as per Fragrant orchids
Is that accurate?

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING !

So, does it really smell BAD or is it 'bareable'?

Nenella, C. percivaliana plants are a bit like a lottery. Some of them can be quite stinky, others just smell like mushrooms... some smell like dirty socks, others like camenbert or stink bugs... However, the gragrance is never too strong that it can contrares the beauty of these plants blooming for Christmas time

...and they are quite easy Catts too

you will probably find that the best this species can offer is C. percivaliana 'Summit' HCC/AOS (indeed a great plant), however there are many other very interesting clones. especially alba, albescens and semi-albas: e.g. 'Caracas', 'Jewel' and 'Carache'

Dorothy, Ramón said it all! My plant is not one of the stinkers. Actually, this alba is one of the most acceptable when 'perfume' is concerned. I have tipos that you can't really get close without saying 'Argh'!!!
