If it has just opened, give it a little time - flowers may flatten out over the next few days. But even if it doesn't, it is a baby taking its first steps... next time likely will be better. However, the marks in the last picture may be of concern... If it were my plant, I would be reaching for the virus test kit. That could be just a development problem in a first bloom flower, or it could be virus ("color break" in Cattleya flowers is a symptom) And there is no way to know except to test. If you don't have test kit, just keep it away from other plants if you can, give it another year to improve.

Are similar marks on all the flowers? The ones I see would have been superimposed when the flower was folded in bud stage. The marks might be from mechanical or thermal damage to the bud.

Thank you very much Roberta. The flower with the marks opened a few days ago, the other just yesterday, i will let they mature, we will see how it goes.
Concerning virus chance, i donīt know, i have many plants from different places, there is always a possibility, but i cannot test it, at least now. I have a sister plant, but it is smaller and there is no trace of blooming.

Thank you Estacion Seca, only one of the flowers has the marks. This spike was a leaf growth, the one with the marks was the upper bud, the one atached to the leaf.
I thought that maybe was my action spraying water in the sunny mornings before noticing that it was a flower growth. I didnīt do it until a couple of weeks ago.
We will see next time

If just one flower, I think that you don't have to worry, it was probably something random that happened in the development of the flower.

Nice job PEP. My 2 Walkerianas are finally blooming - after 4 years in my care. They are both the same: walkeriana SVO Whopper 4n X walkeriana SVO passion 4n AM/AOS. The blooms are gorgeous and the plants are compact which is good for my limited space.

You may not be able to see clearly, but when the sun shines on the blooms, very tiny specks of glitter appear!

Wow, They are fantastic, great color and shape. You really have done a great Job, not me, but i am happy, first time that it blooms, the color is good and also the scent. We will see next time.
I have a few more walkerianas, but only one had a flower last december, the rest might be young or i donīt give them what they need. Tehy keep growing, but no flowers.

Enjoy them
Pedro

Beautiful colour.

I read that first blooms sometimes have markings or orient themselves strangely on the stem. I have a Vuylstekeara that did this on its first blooming, the blooms were facing in different directions all the way up the stem. In further blooming this has been corrected.
