Hazel Boyd availability?
Default Hazel Boyd availability?

While I was veering into Paphiopedilums and Pleurothallids during my early foray into orchids, it was nonetheless hard not to notice Slc. Hazel Boyd.

A CCM with 18 awarded clones, if I recall, and nicely formed and presented flowers from orange-yellows to reds, it was hard not to notice this cross. I always promised myself that I’d eventually get to it. Well, I’ve decided that time is now (or soon), but, despite the early popularity and success, it seems to have vanished. Some further crosses with it are still available (and very nice), but nostalgia is the name of the game here.

Any ideas on where I might find it?

Thanks.

,Doug

Looking at photos, it's likely newer hybrids will have better form, so this is unlikely to be remade. Glance at the compact and standard Catts. at Sunset Valley Orchids. There are a lot in this color range, bred from plants descended from parents like Hazel Boyd, but with much better form.
