Rhycholealia digbyana (or whatever they are calling it now)
This actually, is the first time blooming for this plant. It has been on this mount for about five years. It was part of a larger plant at one time. Very stout waxy leafed plant, that can take a lot of sun. Has a lovely lemony citrus smell at night.

Cool! Mine has a couple sheaths and I'm really hoping for flowers in a month or two!
People call it what they want, but it has been officially known as Rhyncholaelia for over 100 years. Definitly a discussion whether or not that is the correct placement, but there have been no changes.

Yes, we moved down to florida about a year ago. We live in the Apalachicola National Forest. No neighbors, closest one is probably 6 miles. Very peaceful!

“Can take a lot of sun” is an understatement. You damned near have to bake ‘em to see blossoms.

That’s funny, back in the 1970’s when I grew one it was Brassavola digbyana.
