This is my easiest bifolate orchid to grow. Loves water and roots like crazy multiple times a year. I was traveling a lot during the summer and it didn't get enough water but it was still determined to bloom and sent out another growth when I was back home and taking care of my orchids more regularly.

I bought this from SVO in 2022:

C. violacea v. flamea (C. violacea v. flamea 'SVO' x C. violacea v. flamea 'Icabaru' AM/AOS)

I guess Fred refers to this as flamea...

Roy tokunaga showed one a lot like it in his polyploidy talk.

Its interesting! I get that pleoricism is the base of flamea petals but I have no idea how you get the effect on the sepals as well.

Yeah I'm not sure either. I remember in his polyploidy talk he mentions being able to segregate traits in specific ways using tetraploids so maybe its related to that. I believe this is a 3N cultivar so unfortunately this is not able to be used for breeding.

I just mentioned this to Jmoney in another thread but crossing a 3n with a 2n isn't very fertile, but what little seed is produced will have a decent amount of 4n.
