I have a bunch of white cattleyas and this is my favorite. Huge 8" perfectly-formed flowers on rather compact plants. This is the old '1010' cultivar which got an 89 point AM. Blooms every 8-9 months for me now. I am still waiting for that elusive 3rd flower though...

I love the big white flowers. I only have one but white is such a pure color, The flower cant hide in it.

Nice! Mine just started putting a sheath up on the newest growth. I wish I could figure out how to trick this thing into starting a second growing point. Kelpak, regular fertilizer and almost full sun has given explosive root growth, and strong top growth, but only one growth at a time.

One way thay might do the trick john is to cut off a growth when it is very young, like less than 1". This will force the plant to grow from eyes on the backbulbs. If the plant is healthy it will often grow from more than one. If it doesnt work youll be out a few weeks and end up with one lead again. Ive done it accidentally a few times and its always worked out in my favor. I repotted a guatianthe once and snapped off two new growths. Ended up with 7. You'd probably end up with two and it would divert the direction. Fill out the pot a little more. Just a thought.

Cant wait to see these flowers for myself!
