I think you are right! We must be missing a step.

Gonna go research and fish for more info. . .more later.

I think so too. I've moved it recently to the top shelf of my growing rack, under T5 lights. Shooting for more purple tinged leaves.

Interesting research tidbits:

These often grown naturally near the sea, within distance of wind blow spray. Can't imagine spraying with salt water would help! lol

They do well in warmer temps but prefer the cool side of intermediate.

Might help to drop temps at night a little more than usual in the fall. . .to get blooms.

They do prefer to be kept drier during their resting period. I think I've been keeping conditions too consistent and a little too warm, and the light way too low.
