This was my mom's Cattlianthe Jewel Box "Scheharazade". She passed in 2018, and I don't think my dad has ever repotted. He's lost many orchids because he repotted them at the wrong time. Should this be divided? Or could it just be potted when in active growth? Treat it just like any other cattleya?

What you do depends on what you’re hoping for. If this is as big as you’re willing/able to grow it, then you should divide at the next repot, if bigger is ok, I would set it, pot and all, in another pot without media, and let the roots just grow into the air space. The safest time to repot is when you see root initiation if it’s coming out of that pot for divide/repot.

I think you'll want to get this one healthy again before chopping it up. Unless of course, the media has broken down. Then repot immediately.
