Trying to Find a specific variety, Blc. Rodrigo Suzuki laranja

Hello I hope I'm posting it right here.
I've been getting into the orchid hobby for almost two years now doing pretty well recently. However years ago when I first started I didn't know very well what I was doing. So receiving import plants with no established roots didn't work out well. As a result I bought some cattaleyas. And killed some of them however I really like the variety of one I killed but I cannot find it.

The seller basically just ignored my inquiring emails at the time. While I see one vendor in Brasil but no contact info and I'm not fully sure it's the same. Let alone shipping to Europe.
I was hoping maybe someone here on forum owns it or knows a seller. Tho I'm quite certain that's wishful thinking.

First, Welcome!

Finding an exact plant, especially several years later, often is impossible - particularly a particular clone. Most often, a breeder will grow out just a specific number of plants, when they are gone they go on to something else.

Some of our European members can suggest vendors within the EU with good selections of Catts. If you contact them, let them know the plant that you are seeking, they may be able to make suggestions for something similar.,

I haven't seen this offered for sale in the US. But don't give up! You may or may not realize it, but there are hundreds of Cattleya hybrids that look so much like that you would have a hard time telling them apart without a label. Start looking at the orange Catt. hybrids that are available.

I looked it up on orchidroots.com . The registrant was C. K. Suzuki. I couldn't find information about where he worked but I don't think it was the US.

Thankyou. I figured. I can imagine when there's so many varieties they probably don't keep producing all of them forever.

Yes I'll probably have to look for something similar but the smoothness and boldness of the colour seemed hard to find. I'll definitely keep an eye open.

But I'm assuming they need certificates which might make it more difficult or expensive.

Hi there, there are quite a few lookalike Catts with the colors of the Catt you’re looking for. They come up with new names all the time. Maybe there are cattleya suppliers in Europe where you can place online orders?

Some of the ones from India are like yours. Here in Canada I find those colors in Lc.( lycaste= part of cattleya familie.) but flowers are differently shaped.
