Orchid Repotting

I have three cattleyas and 1 dendrobium. I'm not sure if I should repot now or wait until next year. If I do repot now, what size pots should I consider buying? The dendrobium is a 4.5 in tall and wide pot, two of the cattleyas are a 5 in pot and the last cattleya is in a 4 in pot. I thought about just moving up in an inch in size. I remember that being the rule of thumb. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

They sure look ready to me. Another inch or two on catts unless much of the old mix falls away. Dendrobium esp. tight. An inch wider or same pot depending.

All that new root growth says "It's time. Now..." Certainly safe going up 1 pot size (an inch or so). General rule is, allow for about 2 years' growth, no more than 3. So could be an inch, or in the case of the Catts, maybe a little more but not much.

I just ordered some new pots an inch up. The dendrobium will be a half inch up since it was in a 4.5. I also ordered some small pots for the seedlings I’m starting. Let’s hope they grow. Now that I have somewhat more knowledge than I did when I was in 8th grade, I’ll try it again 😅
