Default Black spots on Cattleya leaf seedling

Tiny black spots on the leaf of this Cattleya seedling, any thoughts out there on cause / cause for concern? Growing well otherwise with a new structure. Thanks!

I wouldn't be concerned unless they spread. I don't know where you live but that could have been cold or scratch damage during shipping from Santa Barbara.

Keep water off the leaves. Droplets are great pathogen incubators.

Can't say for sure but it does appear to be mechanical damage from the pics. As several others have said, keep the leaves dry and watch to see if the spots expand over the next few days!

Thanks all for your feedback! I normally do keep leaves dry, just photographed immediately after watering. I bought the seedling in person and it did not have the black patches, so feeling concerned!

I get those on my Cattleyas sometimes when they are outside and, unless the spots grow larger, no need to worry. If you worry about problems with fungus issues, extra Calcium during growth helps to grow stronger cells and will prevent future issues.

I just ordered a few English roses (roses are the drama queens of the plant world) and already bought the bone meal as well as a systemic that also controls fungus.
