Default Leafless pseudobulbs, to prune or not to prune?

I think this Cattleya loddigesii would look much more attractive if I would prune out a dozen or more of the old leafless pseudobulbs. Does anyone do this with their catts? I know that they're a store of reserve energy for the plant, but this one's looking a bit like a weed to me.

I only remove old backbulbs when I repot, either to fit the pot better or just removing old, unwanted bulbs. Since you don't mention anticipating a repot and the leafless pseudobulds are in amoung the leafed bulbs, appear to still be green and not shriveled, why bother?

If thats what you'd like to do I say go for it. Your plant is healthy and im sure it wil be fine if you lose some back bulbs.

Id say just make sure you let the cuts dry out and scab, but looking at that plant, id say you already know your way around an orchid.

Show us an after photo! Even better a flowering photo!
