Those who can buy them can explain better... I have never seen these in their usual haunts of big-box home improvement store. (All I have ever seen at Home Depot are generic Phals, etc., usually in poor condition) Distribution seems to be mostly in US south and southeast.

Not that we have any shortage of places to buy nice seedlings... in southern California we have options the the rest of the US lacks. (Starting with being in easy driving distance of SVO and Santa Barbara Orchid Estate)

Packaged Orchids - Better-Gro

mostly found at "Lowes". Not at a Home Depot.

Usually have some interesting plants and sometimes you find them with spikes and buds.

Orchids marketed by companies such as Better-Gro sell small plants petted (usually) in bark/perlite mix wrapped in either stretch netting or cellophane bags or both. We fondly call these "bag babies".
