Brassavola Little Stars

Ben- question for you.
Do you have a nadosa?
The reason I'm asking is I have a nodosa (posted it last week) and an equal specimen of Little Stars.
Little Stars leaves are almost 50% larger than nadosa (hence a bigger plant) and the flowers are absolutely identical to my eye which has me leaning toward chopping it up and selling it to make space for something different.
Just curious if you have a similar comparison for yours.

the bulbs for cordata/subolifolia are much longer than nodosa, so little starts can have much longer bulbs than its mother plant. brassavola perrinii also has much longer bulbs than nodosa.

well, i put them next to each other and we have nodosa (grandiflora=wide open bulbs and larger flowers than standard nodosa) on left with 11 inches longest bulb, little stars in middle at 14 inches longest bulb and cordata/subolifolia in right at 15 inches longest bulb. So it does look like little stars can have larger bulbs than nodosa due to the cordata/subolifolia genetics. these are small plants and it will be interesting to keep an eye on bulb sizes after a couple of years of solid growth. Pls note that there are many variations of nodosa including a clone that is call minnie mouse that is very small in stature. many recent crosses have been done with nodosa varieties that are now classified as grandiflora. I think they are all beautiful in their own right , pristine white flower, great fragrance and blooms multiple times per year, what's not to like?

They both look excellent. I used to have subulifolia (AKA cordata) and remember that the scent was really good. Congrats on both of yours.

When you see now roots just starting, that's the time for mounting. When you do it, make sure that it's mounted so that the side with new roots and new growth is toward the mount. (This is often opposite of what "looks good" but you need to orient it so that long-term it grows onto the mount instead of into the air) But wait for the start of new roots. That's generally the case for any mounting (and repotting, as well)
