Really wonderful hybrid. Cattleya guttata x dorminiana. Hard to beat that lip and color..

There are 4 leads with buds, 3 from dried sheaths and then this weirdo blooming without sheath...

I also like keeping "Memoria" named hybrids but can't quite articulate why.

That lip is outstanding. And it looks like the Cattleya dorminiana parent somewhat tamed the giant C. guttata growth habit in this cross. Are the flowers fragrant?

Definitely smaller than my C. guttata. The flowers just fully opened today, no fragrance yet, but I'll report back.

beautiful blooms, and a very happy looking plant!

How do you tame the bifoliate roots in the pots? Mine just goes every which way but the pot...

Love it! Dormaniana has such a nice shape. I think it is next on my list!

Where'd you get it??

I try to monitor the plants send out new roots and I coax them into growing into the media using rocks. My grow trays are still a mess of roots though, so I hear you. I recently relocated this one and put it in a clay pot for stability so its just an illusion.

Thanks, totally agree! I was hoping for the guttata petals/sepals and the dorminiana lip.

Its a great plant. Vigorous and the blooms are fantastic. Its hard to tell if there is fragrance right now because I have so many catasetum blooming it overwhelms other flowers.

I picked it up locally. I got a dormaniana earlier in the yar from Sunland Orchids on etsy.
