My Laelia milleri has a sheath but... Male
Default My Laelia milleri has a sheath but...

Although I have this plant for several years it never bloomed so I don't know the particular "behaviours" regarding blooming.
This is the 2nd sheath under my care, significantly larger than the first but it seems empty. I don't know if there something at the bottom of it because the sheath covering the leave base is covering it.
Would it be expectable to see something already? Or this species grows the sheath first before one can see anything inside of it?

I haven't grown this species. But hybrids with rupicolous Laelia ancestry often produce flowers well after the sheath develops. There may be tiny buds far down the sheath you can't see yet.

Thanks for the reply, ES. That's what I'm hoping for.
