Default cattleya acliandae. New growth?

had this for a few months now. When It arrived like many of the other plants, it came with heat stressed set of leaves. Cut em off. Right where I cut the shoot, A root popped out then this. Its been so long I'm sorry, is it New shoot or a bloom?
It would just make my day if I got this to gimme a flower.
Regardless, Im glad to see this plant is accepting me.

this is one of Peter T. Lins "cattleya acliandae 'Super' 4N."

Thanks in advance

It's a new growth. With every new growth there's a possibility to have a sheath. With every sheath there's a possibility to have a spike.
So, it's a new growth that might develop (or not) a spike.

Definitely a rhizome, but it looks like the meristem has been broken out of it.

Aclandiae opens its leaves while simultaneously blooming. Buds will form inside the new growth as its maturing and the emerge as the leaves open. It’s like a slow motion bloom vomit, or at least that’s how it seems to work in my broken brain. 😅😅

Seconding "bloom vomit" - that's definitely the best thing I've seen today!!

I have 2 aclandiaes. I hope I can keep them alive long enough to bloom!
