I just love to see people’s pets posed with orchids. The best things in the whole world in one post! I have helpers too and I don’t know what I’d do without them. Only problem.... the like to eat the Orchiata bark. Bad Doggies! Bad! Don’t tell them I am a dog trainer.

hahaha!! That's amazing how they like to eat the bark. They think it's like dog biscuits? Or good fibre? hehe
But one amazing thing is - the stomachs of these pets are solid, as in how they can handle much more than our stomachs. One guy in Australia (I think it was) was dared at a party or something to eat a gecko, which turned out really bad (as in - he didn't make it after eating it!). My cat seems to have an iron stomach - and don't appear to have issues with have the occasional gecko as food.
Fully agree with you! Having our pets in some orchid pics is nice, and nice to share. Thanks for telling me about your dogs!!!

Love the yellow, lovely and fresh.
I have two dogs, 2 year old female Jack Russell and a 4 month old male German Shepherd.
Holly has never eaten bark, but for Dexter despite having other toys out there its the first thing he looks for when out in the garden.
I hope he grows out of it!

Thanks for mentioning the different behaviours of your two dogs Diane! I didn't know that some dogs look for bark to eat or to chew on until you and nemesis mentioned it. And then, after searching online - was surprised to see various details about that. At least 'Dr Harry' and 'Dr Chris' hasn't needed to say much on that. Dex will hopefully watch Holly not doing the bark eating, and maybe grow out of that.

Bark Eating Dogs
I was going to say good luck with that, but then I realized people on the OB might mistakenly think I was a cynic.

Lol!
I take it from him when I see him chewing but is a difficult thing to police thats for sure. I'm consistent with telling Dexter "No" and replacing it with his rope or another toy.
I'm putting it down to teething and keeping my fingers crossed he grows out of it.
At least he doesn't jump up and knock an orchid pot off the shelf to get a piece of bark, he just takes it from the garden as we use bark as mulch. We don't use chemicals so no worries there and the bark is locally sourced and has no additives.

hehe ----- I can't remember the name of the guy on one of the tv shows, where he gets called around to peoples houses to provide services - thinking of ways to change certain behaviour of dogs in the nicest and effective ways. That guy is good. Really good.

Graham Hall from Dogs Behaving Badly.
Yes Ive watched his programs, I must say a lot of the owners just needed to apply a bit of common sense, i.e. the Bassett Hound that climbed on the kitchen counter to growl at the owners.
