C. Katherine Clarkson, F2
Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids) still writes labels with Slc. Katherine Clarkson, but since the Brazilian Laelias became Sophronitis, and then all the Sophronitises became Cattleyas, it is a 'plain' C. Katherine Clarkson.
It has been used extensively in breeding for spotted flowers. Early this year SVO released a sib cross ('Solar Spots' HCC/AOS x 'SVO' HCC/AOS), creating the F2 generation. I couldn't resist getting a bunch, and three of them are in bloom now. As usual, these siblings show a considerable variation:
Left: Good spot distribution
Center: Best color
Right: Best/largest flower
