Here is the first bloom on this intriguing hybrid from SVO. The blooms are 5" across, waxy, and showy. It's opened up yesterday and I have not detected any scent. Similarly to my nodosa, the blooms seem to open and close a bit through the day, although the cycles seemed flipped.
The plant it self is a bit unsual. The bifoliate leaves are thick as brassavolas, twisted in odd directions. The spike arose from an odd looking growth that looked like tightly wound cigars.
