Just thought it show off this awesome Cattleya. At about 24" tall it's fairly giant for a first time bloomer. I bought it a few months ago from Krull-Smith so I can't take too much credit for the flowers. Most of my Cattleya are seedlings so I splurged on this fancy blooming size plant to bridge the gap. So worth it!

Since the plant was starting to grow roots over the edge of the pot and preparing to start flowering at the same time I just dropped the whole thing into an big 10" S/H bucket. I'm planning to unpot it and fully transfer it to S/H once it has a decent root system established into the LECA.

They have a beautiful shape and rich color. I'm loving them and a second growth has another spike on the way. The fragrance is strong and I would say it's floral with a metalic overtone.

I'll post another photo when the second spike opens!
