Default Vintage cattleya virus

Howdy all!

Lots of vintage cattleya cultivars are virus infected. (CMV, ORV, etc.) Can anyone give me an informed guess on the percentage of old catts that are Typhoid Marys. Thanks! Steve H

Greenhouse grower SW WI USA , USDA zone 3. It's hard to heat a greenhouse when it's -40°C/F

I have no idea, but I test every division or clone that comes in. The most reputable sellers will test before selling, or offer a refund/replacement for a virused plant. I count myself lucky to have some vintage, virus free plants.

Oh wow, I assumed all the vintage divisions were virused!
