More even lighting pics captured this morning. Limited angle for the pics - because the pot is behind a pole in this planter box area.

And the roots grew through the drainage grate and into the sand/soil underneath. So can't move the pot at the moment heheh.

That's such a nice color! Very cheerful.
So I guess the plant will be living in that spot permanently if the roots grew into the ground? That's going to be quite a challenge to repot.

Thanks for your post Camille! I think I will leave that plant there for a little while longer. Not too long ago, I had to use cutters to pry out much bigger catts ----- the next door 'neighbours' of this pot, which had their roots growing into the soil as well. The roots always burrow to a shallow depth only. But enough to do some anchoring.

I had to repot the big catts into bigger pots --- that also required snipping the roots that went through the drainage grates. But to then get the catts out of their pots, I usually have to use metal 'tin-snips', which snip through the plastic pots very easily ----- and then I just put the mass of root and inorganic media into the bigger pot, and fill in with more inorganic media.

The tin-snips are amazing. Makes light work of plastic pots. I wouldn't use them if I didn't need to. It's just that some roots are jammed so much - that it's just super easy to just use the big gun cutter hehe.
