Just to show off a lovely Rhyncattleanthe Sunrise Passion (Rlc. Karen's Sunrise x Rth. Love Passion) that displays the indescribable lime green and yellow colors...

And, I also have a question for a rough shape Blc BB Pride x Blc Purple Rhapsody that I just got... Of the yellowing old leaves, is it of consequences if I cut them off? Which ones should I remove?
The new growth on it and it's new roots make me feel a little better abut how terrible the plant looks, but just wanted to see if I can give it a little helping hand?

Don't cut off old Cattleya leaves. They will dry up and drop off on their own. There's nobody in the forests to cut them off so the plants figured out how to do it themselves.

When leaves are dying at least some of the minerals, sugar, nutrients and water return to the parent plant. By cutting off leaves too early you prevent this.

My only concern is that the frontal yellow one has black spots on it. If it was infection related it would be good to remove to prevent spreading, right? Does it look infected to you?

Doesn't look problematical to me. When a leaf gets old, it may get spots like that. When nature takes it course and it drops off, problem solved.

It looks as though you're growing inside your home? If so, you're almost never going to see any bacterial nor fungal diseases. They need higher humidity and temperature than is typically found in a home. The exception will be the potential for Phal crown rot if water stands in the crown during cool temperatures (under 80 F / 27C.)

Yes however this plant just arrived yesterday from an online vendor's nursery. I do not know how its life story has been so far 😁

Just keep it isolated from the other plants and watch its progress.
