i am jealous but i am looking forward to seeing them grow in both your cares.
with my first kid i went from "i buy what i want" to "i have an orchid budget". with the second kid i went to "i am glad i already have so many plants because i may never be able to buy another!" LOL

I send you some divisions in 5 years
Proud to say this is my first orchid purchase in 6 months! (except a restrepia I picked up at a local nursery for $7, that doesn't count right?)

No that wouldn't count in my book either.
You didn't go looking for it, that Restrepia just presented itself and you had no alternative.
Thats forced acquisition!

I've added an rlc sun bloom to my shopping basket just cause I can't buy any of those lovely new varieties but I still find the occasional good new cross here. I only look for small varieties and this one I am not too sure but kind of just have to have it even if I have to sell my dendrobium blue happyness to make some space.
My only purchase this year has been a rhyncholaelia digbyana "mrs chase" - was quite happy to find it even if it is still a few years from flowering.

For anyone interested:
Fred posted this to the mailing list before he put it on The website so if you search the website you won't find new availability yet. Here is the link:

I got one each of the semialba and alba C. warscewiczii. I got a L. tenebrosa to replace one eaten by rats. Also one each of the two Eplc. Magic Wand (Epc. Kyoguchi x Lc. Trick or Treat), an amazingly easy to grow and flower plant with loads of small flowers. I already have two of them from previous lists.
My Lc. Naranja En Flor from an earlier list is flowering for the first time. I'll post a photo elsewhere. This is an incredibly vigorous hybrid with flowers in a range of oranges. Mine is glowing burnt orange. There's another release of these in the current list.
He also is offering remakes of great older crosses using superior parents. Here are a few: L. Zip (tenebrosa x milleri); Lc. Miss Wonderful (Lc. Mari's Song x L. anceps); Lc. Magic Bell (C. loddigesii x Lc. Trick or Treat); Lc. Candy Corn (C. Dubiosa x Lc. Trick or Treat); C. Pittiae coerulea (C. loddigesii x C. schilleriana); C. Portia coerulea (C. labiata x C. bowringiana); L. Pacavia (L. tenebrosa x L. purpurata); Lc. Isfield (L. Pacavia x C. warscewiczii); C. Chongkolnee (C. Chocolate Drop x C. bowringiana); Blc. Cherry Suisse (Blc. Oconee x C. Chocolate Drop).
