C. Dubiosa (1890) = trianae x loddigesii
A couple of years ago Fred Clarke (SVO) offered a remake of this classic hybrid, using exceptional parents:
C. trianae 'Cashens' FCC/AOS x C. loddigesii 'Tamiami Thunder' AM/AOS
The original RHS registration shows (harrisoniana x trianae), so technically these plants are the reciprocal cross - not to mention the harrisoniana/loddigesii debate.
I have now bloomed two of them. Both with flowers that are 5" to 5.1/4" across. One has a 'normal' lip, while the other looks more like the loddigesii lip.
