I have a plant that I thought had distorted growth. I'm glad I found this post.

Could this be related to meristem culture? They use all kinds of hormones that can throw plants out of balance.

I honestly think that keiki that I have on the C. bifoliate is a direct result of stress.

I have the same thing on a C intermedia var. aquini, but not on the top of pseudo bulb, just on the nodes bellow.

i have a keiki similar to this forming on my clty spring fragrance 'paradise'....it has captivated me watching its progress....the plant is healthy, forming a flowering sheath on one side, and normal new growth, but on the back part of the plant on an old psuedobulb, this keiki started growing....i have seen this before, but i never associated it with any particular breeding....i wonder how long till i can pot it up separately? i will of course wait till the roots are mature....and i water the roots on the keiki to keep it active.....
