I found a lot of orchid divisions at Lowe's this week and picked up three. All with names.
I'm going to try growing catts again. Maybe being here in a more humid environment will help. Plus I picked up a Brassavola Nodosa as well. Going to try to mount him.

That's a truly gorgeous cattleya, though my opinion may be biased. I love the catts with spots!
I've purchased a couple dozen orchids from Lowes, even some that are very rare. The only misgivings I have about Lowes, is that around 3/4 of the plants I bought there tested positive for either CMV or ORSV.
Edit: I don't know where you are in Alabama, but I can say that my orchids grow better in the Mississippi heat and humidity that I've seen anywhere else I lived, which includes CA, WA, IA, WI, and ME.
