pbbbbt raspberries and deformed lips?

You know, when the lip pokes out from the tip of the bud weeks before the bud opens. pbbbbt.

Has anyone noticed if that results in damaged or misshapen lips on a consistent basis?

I have no idea what pbbbbt and raspberries are but I had a Cattleya loddigesii with the lip splitting out of the bud on its first bloom and the bloom was deformed, or at least I hope it was a deformed first bloom.
