Good old C. Horace 'Maxima' (grex registered in 1938) is still producing quality offspring.

I purchased several NBS plants from Exotic Orchids of Maui about 3 years ago. I made the mistake of potting one in a clay pot (pan), that was a bit too shallow. It grew well, but refused to bloom.

Last summer I repotted it, in a deeper clay pan, and it is now blooming on some 6-8 leads. Flowers are 6.7/8" (17.4 cm) wide.

Love it, it always amazes me how the lip shows through even if its only a small percentage of dowiana in the plant.
