Zooming in close enough will reveal the 'white dot' sparkle effect seen in many cattleya flowers - when sun shines on the flower at particular times --- at the particular angles. Quite a nice effect.
This pic is already in the 'Orchids in Bloom' section of OrchidBoard. But putting it here too, as it's important to leave the mark of 'the supervisor' here ----- one piece of ginger cat's hair --- held up by spider-silk maybe ----- mid-right-hand portion of the pic heheh.
A nice personality in orchid circles (AOS member and current President of the Canadian Orchid Congress) - Dr Leslie Ee ----- recently mentioned (in an orchid forum) that the source/reason for the glitter or sparkles of various orchid flowers in sunlight is due to 'water structure within the cellular structure of the flowers'. Very nice information!!
