Talking B. digbyana getting a spike

Woo Hoo!!!

Last summer I was able to purchase a cutting from Waldors awarded (not remembering at this moment exactly which and the plant is at home so I can't check the tag) Brassavola digbyana. Walt had brought it to our Orchid Society meeting the night after it was judged and it was spectacular. It needed repotting and when they did it they made several small cuttings to sell. I was lucky enough to get one of those pieces.

There has been a new growth coming on and when I picked it up to water it this week I noticed that the new growth is getting fat! There definitely be at least 1flower in there!! In the next week or so I will put a wire in the pot to hold that flower when it appears. I couldn't put anything other than a wire in that pot because it is very tight in there.

Woo Hoo!!! I am soooo excited! YEAH!
