Bud hug/hugging is a very nice terminology! Nice one. Completely ingrained into my mind now. I will never forget this one! Thanks DeaC!!!!!

For this flowering, the sheath was quite long and the spike only just allowed the buds to clear the top of it hahaha. I was originally thinking of peeling the sheath (or splitting it - banana style). The first bud opened with the flowers pointing skyward due to this sheath haha.
