Diane - with the one circulating around Australia --- C. Caudabec Candy 'Burgundy' ----- I notice somebody on ebay (Australia) is selling juveniles for 80 dollars - in their advertised 100 mm pot, which is certainly expensive. I'm sure the same can be purchased for 20 percent of that price.

Ive got alerts set up on ebay so I get notified if anything Im looking for pops up.
Ive seen the Caudebec Candy Burgandy version on ebay for $85 via Orchid Patio.

Checked out Woolfe but they don't have any listed. I'll check the rest of the nurseries after I finish watering the orchids, its warming up down here, 27C today.
I will just have to keep looking, my wish list just keeps getting longer and longer!

Thanks for mentioning that you saw Caudabec Candy 'Burgundy' on ebay Australia for 85 dollars. I noticed that seller is currently selling a mature flowering size version for 150 dollars. That is certainly expensive. I'm not going to pay that though hahaha. I think there is a place - Alice's Orchids - that should be able to sell juveniles for 10 to 15 dollars each - much more reasonable price, and they won't be like tiny juveniles.

Alice's Orchids is on my notification list but I haven't seen any C. Candy in the last few days big or small.

Your C. Cuadabec Candy is gorgeous. It bears some resemblance to my C. Caudabec 'Linwood', which may be my favorite Cattleya flower, though my choice of favorites is pretty fickle. I attached a photo of C. Caudabec 'Linwood' for those who are not familiar with it.

Edit: It appears that Caudabec Candy is (Lulu x Caudabec).

Thanks Diane --- for letting me know that A.O. is on your notification list. There's a fair chance that they sell that one. The 'Burgundy' one will definitely be acquirable. You might even encounter it in other ways - such as from the club meets etc. It's definitely getting around. That's a very nice one for a spotted catt collection for sure!

Beautiful flowers Keith!!! Wonderful display from that one. The C. Caudebec 'Linwood' definitely looks like very appealing candy! Thanks for uploading that nice pic!

C. Caudabec Candy is recorded in the RHS international orchid register as:

C. Penny Kuroda (Caudebec Group) x C. Lulu

Even the bracketed portion is part of the registered grex for C. Penny Kuroda (Caudebec Group). Interesting in that they even put brackets with the Penny Kuroda. A touch of overkill there heheh.

With a lot of these spotted catts, rbarata and I notice interesting colour transitions are the flowers get older. There was one time that the flowers of this same orchid looked like this for approximately one week.

And then, usually at the very last stages of bloom - the flowers can become darkish maroon red - glazed candy appearance.
