I just got back from a trip and I found a whole yellow bulb and I was only absent for 4 days. I left them fully watered on Thursday, and on Friday and Saturday they have sprayed it a little (in theory). It's still hot here during the day.
What could cause this?

I have moved the adult but smaller Catts to the place where I have the large ones, I have consciously measured the light, it does not exceed 900-1100fc and there is no direct sun, it may be that the new place is warmer. None of the others I moved show heatstroke. Goodness !! Yes, the rest of this particular plant seems fine, but I did freak out.
By the way, this is a C. Star Parade 'Volcano Queen'
Thanks

It might just be an old bulb whose time has come to donate it's resources back into the plant. Keep an eye on it, but I don't think it's necessarily going to cause a problem.

Thank you steve.
I just removed and put some healing wax in the cut.
